@stevenalonzofitness Two protein shakes a day are required regardless of whether you are on the weight loss plan or muscle building plan. This is only 50 grams of protein and 260 calories. It's not going to make you fat which is a common misconception for people who never studied nutrition. However the protein will make you feel full when and prevent muscle loss while losing weight in the calorie deficit. And a surplus of protein is just a simple requirement when building muscle. The protein literally turns into new muscle fibers and you cannot get that from carbs or fats. The number one reason people become fat and find it hard to lose weight is because they are deficient in protein. You need at least 0.5g per pound of body weight. That means if I weigh 160lbs I need to get at least 80 grams somehow. The two shakes add 50g and then through your regular meals you will get the rest.
